A Tip for White Guys Dating Black Women: Making Her Feel Secure

The saying “love conquers all” and “love sterilizes all” may be familiar with us but do they still apply when we are dating someone from another race? To answer that question: yes, they should. Just because you are different in race or color doesn’t mean that you should eliminate him/her from you dating list. Nowadays there are a lot of white guys dating black women and interacial dating isn’t really something new. Even if many of the issues and concerns regarding interracial dating have all been solved or remedied, it can still be hard to be in an interracial relationship. In regards to this, it is even harder to get a black woman to agree to go on a date with you if you are white.

If you are lucky enough to go on a date with a black woman, remember that probably the most important thing for you to do is to make her feel secure. Failing to do so might make her leave you and never talk to you or go out with you again.

Making her feel secure isn’t as easy as it sounds. To make sure that you are in the right patch, make her warm up to you. You can tell if she is beginning to feel comfortable with you if she starts to open up about personal things. Don’t try to force these things out from her if she doesn’t want to. Avoid topics that you think she feels uncomfortable with if you can. Make her feel assured and that you are really interested in her.

Telling her what you truly feel will also help. If you run out of things to say, think of things that you have in common and take it from there. Talk about similar things that you both have and not focus on how different you are from each other. Praise her. But do not do so in an exaggerated manner. Don’t take her for a fool; just because she is from another race doesn’t mean you are smarter than her.

Black women will usually feel insecure when they are around white men. It will be entirely up to you to make her insecurities disappear. You can do this by complimenting her and avoid topics regarding race, color and culture. White guys dating black women have the tendency of talking too much about themselves. Avoid doing this. Make her feel special and make her feel that your attention revolves only around her. All women want to be treated like this regardless of race or color.

Once you make her feel more comfortable with you, it is time to take the next step in your dating phase. Fitting in to her life will be tough but hang in there. You are both from different cultures so it is understandable that you both will need some time to adapt. Do not expect that things will fall in place immediately. The key to a successful relationship is to keep things nice and slow.
